Is Ag Guard Right for You?
Ag Guard Extended Coverage – Trusted Protection from Your Dealer
Ag Guard coverage is exclusively available through your equipment dealer, ensuring you get the right protection tailored to your needs.
Certainty in Uncertain Times
As machinery grows more complex and costly, the risk of unexpected repairs threatens your financial success. Ag Guard extended coverage provides peace of mind by shielding you from sudden failures.
Why Choose Extended Coverage
- Financial Security — Avoid major repair costs like engine or transmission failures.
- Higher Trade-in Value — Machines with remaining coverage hold their worth.
- Predictable Ownership Costs — Confidence in long-term financial planning.
Considerations Before Purchasing
- Cost vs. Benefit — Is extended coverage worth it? If repairs are manageable or your business can absorb a major failure, setting aside funds may be a better option.
- Manufacturer’s Covergae — Newer machines might qualify for manufacturer-backed warranties, which can offer lower parts costs and better long-term value.
- Coverage Details — Extended coverage differs from warranties and insurance—it only covers failures due to material or workmanship defects. Review the inclusions and exclusions carefully.
- Length of Coverage — How long do you plan to keep the machine? How many hours are you likely to use during that time? Pro tip: trading a machine with coverage remaining will greatly improve its value.
- Provider Reputation — Does the provider offer fast, fair claims service? Your dealer or service manager is a great resource for determining reliability. Look for a firm with a long track record.
- Refund & Cancellation Policies — Can you get a prorated refund if you decide to cancel the contract? Ag Guard offers a full refund for 90 days and prorates the coverage value thereafter.
- Repair Process — Some contracts limit repair options. Ag Guard works with any qualified repair facility, handling claims directly for smoother service.
- Transferability — Does the contract stay with the machine? With Ag Guard, it does, increasing its resale appeal.
Ag Guard is Not Bumper-to-Bumper or Comprehensive Coverage
- Designed for business owners who maintain their machines diligently and follow manufacturer specifications
- Ag Guard coverage is not an insurance policy, and it is not a warranty
- Manufacturer warranties provide comprehensive coverage, while Ag Guard Extended Service Contracts extend that coverage for many but not all aspects of the machine
- Ag Guard does not cover existing failures or pre-existing conditions
- Ag Guard repairs what is broken rather than refurbishing or rebuilding to like-new condition
- A smart approach to repairs: Ag Guard allows owners to make informed repair decisions. For example, if a piston fails, coverage pays for the repair, but owners can opt to replace all pistons or install a rebuilt/remanufactured engine—paying only the difference.
Ag Guard Coverage Excludes Certain Components
The owner is responsible for normal wear. The following are not covered:
- Emissions components
- Wiring harnesses and electronic components
- Adjustments and maintenance items
- Software updates
- Mileage, driving time, transportation, and field service costs
- Failures resulting from misuse, abuse, or equipment modification
Leaks from seals and gaskets are considered maintenance and are only covered if required to repair a covered failure
